WNDG holds events using four main formats - most following the WNDG acronym. Be sure to check out the Events listings for more details.
Wednesday Night Discussion Group - Welcome Wagon
Our traditional discussion groups have morphed into informal Welcome Wagon for people new to Waterloo Region.
Generally held the first Wednesday of each month, these groups are designed to support those looking to find out more about the rainbow community in Waterloo Region. Welcome Wagons are held at a local coffee shop and those interested in attending are encouraged to let the facilitator know they will be attending (see the event listing for details).
Wednesday Night Dinner Group
These informal social gatherings provide an opportunity for the local rainbow community to regularly meet with old and new friends in a casual, pub-like atmosphere.
Dinner Groups are held on the second Wednesday of each month, in partnership with the Queer Night Out Waterloo Region MeetUp group.
Wednesday Night (Community) Dialogue Group
Dialogue groups provide an opportunity for participants to engage with members of the local community on specific issues of interest. Community members with specific expertise in the evening's topic are invited to co-facilitate the discussion.
Dialogue Groups are scheduled when there is a pressing community issue and/or the WNDG is approached by a speaker looking to facilitate a session. Check the Events listing regularly to make sure you don't miss the next dialogue.
Wednesday Night Dessert Group
These informal social gatherings provide an opportunity for the local rainbow community to regularly meet with old and new friends over drinks and dessert.
Dessert Groups are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Symposium Café in Uptown Waterloo, in partnership with the Queer Night Out Waterloo Region MeetUp group.
